Offspring Fling Review

spring Fling was released a few months ago. Although it’s considered a retro game, it’s quite different than the classic retro games we know from the 80′s like Pacman, Tetris and Donkey Kong.
The game has much more advanced graphics and design, and it reminds more of a 90′s arcade game.
For the Mario fans or Donkey Kong fans, you might find this game very similar to the old GameBoy title “Mario vs. Donkey Kong”, only instead of collecting keys you need to rescue the young chickens that were kidnaped by the mighty dragon.
I remember when I played Mario vs. Donkey Kong – or any other similar arcade game for that matter – I didn’t mind that the levels were easy, because that was pretty much the standard.
Today we EXPECT games to be difficult, and that finishing levels will take us a few hours.
I finished Offspring Fling in 4 hours, and that was really dissapointing. I don’t know if I was wrong expecting it to be tougher, but considering the game has 100 levels – ye, I was freaky dissapointed!
Most levels can be completed in a minute or two, rarely you see a level that stretches to more than one screen.
Luckily the music and graphics kept me hanging on…
But it’s not all bad. There were some levels that required some high level coordination and platform skills (too bad those levels appear only at the end of the game).
So if you don’t mind playing an easy game just to pass a few hours with no stress, this is the game for you. It’s only 8$ , no big deal.
I prefer to wait for a new Indi package
